Nina Skorin-Kapov

Nina Skorin-Kapov was born in Zagreb, Croatia, in 1981. She received her Dipl-Ing and Ph.D. degrees in Telecommunications from the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Computing at the University of Zagreb, Croatia, in 2003 and 2006, respectively. She has been working at the same university since 2003, first as a Research Assistant (2003-8) and now as Assistant Professor (2008-present). She was on leave completing a Post-Doctoral Fellowship at Télécom Paris - École Nationale Supérieure des Télécommunications, Paris, France from 9/2006-9/2007.

Her research interests include heuristic algorithms, optimization in telecommunications (particularly in WDM wide-area optical networks), network routing algorithms and network topology design. More recently, she has been investigating self-organization concepts and protection schemes for optical networks security.
